1. what is kindwood?
kindwood is comprised of approximately 30% polyethylene (pe) plastic and 60% wood fibers and 10% additive.
2. does kindwood contain any preservative treatments?
no. kindwood is virtually impervious to moisture and does not require pressure treatment, preservative treatments, water sealing or staining.
3. how does kindwood stand up against termites?
kindwood has been extensively tested for termite resistance. because production requires that the all material get heated to a temperature of 190 to 230 degrees during the timber extrusion process. thus guarantees that any possible contaminants from bug, their eggs or other infestation is 100% eradicated.
4. does kindwood board is uv protection?
kindwood board has uv protection, however, please bear in mind that over time there will be a slight fading of color, this is natural and not be a warranty issue.
5. will kindwood rot or decay like wood?
no. kindwood has been extensively tested under hostile accelerated aging conditions by outside laboratories. it is warranted to resist rot and fungal decay when properly installed and maintained .
6. does kindwood require water sealing or staining?
no. kindwood is virtually maintenance free and will only require periodic cleaning as with any flooring surface.
7. when installation, what tools are required?
kindwood can be easily installed with standard woodworking tools, including hammer, skill saw, rasp.
8. how do i clean kindwood?
the terrace can be cleaned with a brush/ sanding paper,with a high pressure cleaner, you must keep a distance of at least 30cm from the terrace sections. if necessary you can use a neutral soap. make sure that the detergent does not attack plastic.
following are some recommendations in details:
1) water stains
there will be some water stains on the surface of the newly installed terrace when the water evaporates after rain. it is temporary phenomenon which will disappear in about 1-2 months by itself. it can be cleaned by wiping the surface with steel wool.
2) mud, dust, etc.
clean decking to remove dirt by using hot water with soap. sand it with stiff bristle if needed.
3) scratch, oil stains, alcohol stains, and cigarette stains etc.
